Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Published by admin under Misc,News

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?” This quote made famous by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. strikes at the heart of what it means to be a mindful participant in any community. On an international level this week, people are joining forces to heal Haiti. Together, we’re proving that we’re wired to help.

People all over the United States are urged to honor Dr. King’s legacy by making this holiday a national day of service. The Corporation for National Community Service has set up a web site to help us find a volunteer opportunity in our local community.

For those who like Music we have include several “Special Mixes” to honor Dr. King.

Levi -vs- Palin

Published by admin under Misc,Must See,News

Levi Johnston appeared on CBS’ Early Show Wednesday, where he explained his reasons for spilling unflattering information about the Palin family and said he was keeping some “huge” secrets. Among other things, Johnston said Palin joked about her son Trig’s Down Syndrome, calling him her “retarded baby.”

“I was just in shock the first time I heard it,” he said, when host Maggie Rodriguez expressed disbelief. He also said Bristol took care of the baby much more than her mother: “Sarah was never home.” Johnston also said that Todd and Sarah would fight in front of their kids. Continue Reading »

Ted Kennedy Has Died

Published by admin under Misc,News

Senator Ted Kennedy known as the “Lion of the Senate,” died at age 77 earlier tonight after battling brain cancer.

Hailing from a large Catholic family, Kennedy was the brother of former President John F. Kennedy and New York Sen. Robert Kennedy, who were both assassinated. He was also brother of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, who was hailed after her recent death among pro-life groups for her efforts.

Kennedy’s presidential aspirations were damaged after a 1969 crash that left a woman dead, and was defeated in the 1980 primary by former President Jimmy Carter.

The Washington Post is calling him “one of the most powerful and influential senators in American history.” According to CNN, he played major roles in the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act and the 1993 Family and Medical Leave Act.

HealthCare – Thoughts

Published by admin under Government,Misc,News

Im not going to claim that I know alot about what is in the Health Care Reform thats in discussion but I know our officials that will vote on it dont know all about it either. Thats the first part that concerns me and it should concern everyone.

The media such as Fox News and especialy Sean Hannity have right out LIED about this issue. They wont back up claims people have made and I wish I could interview these people so I could “Call them out”. I have seen several segments on Fox News and Hannity where the statement “No American has ever gone to Canada for Health Care” .. well this is FALSE and from what I hear Fox and Hannity may face some serious action. We could learn from Iranians

Remember seeing News about Iran Protesters like this…

Thousands of Iranians poured into the streets of Tehran, clapping, chanting, almost mocking the authorities as they once again turned out in large numbers in defiance of the government’s threat to crush their protests with violence.

In a country where it is Illegal to Protest, people are willing to be jailed or even die for what they believe in. Not just groups of 20 neighborhood friends but tens of thousands fill the streets to Protest when Government is out of control. Continue Reading »
